Operations & Accounts Manager Role – Temp to Perm | Listed 15 August 2022

The Role

An exciting opportunity to join a growing equities fund manager in an Operations and Account Manager role.

Auscap is a growing, boutique fund manager that is committed to becoming a leading Australian fund manager with a reputation for performance, integrity and a positive workplace environment.

Based in Sydney, the role is ideal for a financial accountant professional who has 3-5 years experience in either financial and or fund accounting. The role will support the Chief Operating Officer in the daily operations function. You will be responsible for all aspects of the calculation of net asset values and be exposed to all aspects of investment operations including trade management.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, motivated, has the initiative to work independently and importantly enjoys working as part of a team.

Flexible arrangements can be worked out for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for dealing with the company’s counterparties in relation to fund administration, fund accounting and taxation, company accounting and taxation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support and review sign off on daily unit prices/NAV Calculations, performance fees, reconciliations of redemptions & applications, End of month fund unit pricing reconciliation and accounting checks;
• Fund account reconciliation;
• Annual fund income and tax calculation verification;
• Annual review of fund investor tax statements;
• Fund audit review management;
• Company accounting;
• Preparation of company financial accounts;
• Company and AFSL audit process management; and
• Correspondence with clients, counterparties and service providers.
• Monitoring and liaising with the Fund Administrator regarding trade management
• Liaising with the Fund Administrator regarding registry trades
• Supporting the Chief Operating Officer with day-to-day operational tasks

Requirements – The successful applicant will possess;

• A CA or CPA qualification;
• Accounting experience post qualification
• Tax knowledge in investment funds
• Advanced MS Office skills;A natural ability to build rapport and create relationships;
• Initiative and a high level of self-motivation;
• An excellent standard of communication in both written and verbal formats;
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
• A flexible approach with the ability to adapt and prioritise as appropriate;
• Strong numerical ability and high attention to detail;
• A work approach that is highly organised.
